Carlos Daniel Perez-Boza is a self-taught artist hailing from New York City. He works in painting, drawing, design and urban arts bi-coastal and resides in San Francisco. Perez is involved in several arts and design collectives and is a teaching artist with the San Francisco Cultural Arts Division and Mission-based Brushfire Paint Workshop. Originally from Puerto Rico, his work--which takes on abstract, representational and symbolic forms--is heavily inspired by the rich iconographies of indigenous peoples, diverse superstitions and current public conspiracy theories. A dense network of personal, political, cultural and esoteric symbols provide the structure, narrative and mood of his colorful dreamscapes.
